Erika enjoys working at the nexus of social issues and strategic communications. A transplant from Southern California, she grew to love the Bay Area while studying English and Political Economy at UC Berkeley. There, she developed a passion for politics and an interest in the effects of public policies on inequalities.
At FCP, she works to plan press events, pitch reporters, and draft materials for clients, while also serving as resident editor for FCP’s blog and social media accounts.
Prior to joining FCP, Erika worked as a Communications Intern at NextGen Climate (now NextGen America) during the 2016 election season which exposed her to a fast-paced campaign environment and taught her invaluable editing, media monitoring, and research skills.
While at Cal she volunteered in the Associated Students of the University of California Student Advocate’s Office. In this role, she represented students in disputes with the university, managed a group of student caseworkers, and initiated an education campaign encouraging better understanding of Title IX and its applications.
Erika loves contributing to the mission-driven work at Full Court Press, and to the passionate discussions of political and social issues at the office ‘watercooler.’ Outside of the office, she enjoys trying new recipes, fruitlessly attempting to keep up with her book club, and asking strangers on the street if she can pet their dogs.
